The find similar function now works and contact page added, didn't take long at all :)

Yeah, it finally happened! The mouseover loop previews finally work in all browsers (well I have tested it in IE and FireFox anyway). Many thanks to Scott Schiller for his most excellent JavaScript and Flash programming, if you want to embed sound in your web pages I recommend Scott's Sound Manager2, the project page can be found at http://www.schillmania.com/projects/soundmanager2/ .



I am far from finished, I have done a quick rebuild on Music-Sample, removing the JavaScript menus (which looked coolish a few years ago) and resampled all the loop previews to 24Kbps, mono and 22050Hz, they sound much better.



The short list of things to do is to get the find similar link working, add a contact page and figure out how to butcher Scott's code to display the download progress of the loop previews.



I can't see myself or Sinthisis recording any loops, but if you are an artist and would like to donate some of your work to the cause ('cause I can't afford to pay) especially bass or electronic stuff use the contact page to send me an email.

It seems that our old news blog had some code errors in it and some search engines (Google) didn’t like it and would not index the site, so we have replaced the blog.

We have uploaded 200+ loops from the session with Todd, with school holidays we have not got as far with the editing as we would have liked but we should get some more loops up next week

I have added a random function to the find loops button so that you don’t get pages and pages on the same theme.

I also added find similar link that will return loops cut out either side of the loop you choose, it doesn’t actually look for similar loops, just similar numbers so the results may not be exactly what you expect.

Things to do: finish editing Todd’s session, give you a choice of either random or ordered result, add a shout box so you can leave some comments and find some more musicians to record.
